Getting started

Is the first month really free?

Yes. One month of self-paced learning is free for a limited time. Mentor classes are paid.

Does my child need coding experience?

No. The course begins with the basics: reading a small piece of code, understanding one idea, and trying it out. No previous coding experience is expected.

Who is CodeCrafters for?

Learners aged 5–17, and older learners up to 21 are welcome too. Younger learners may need an adult alongside them to help with reading and using the keyboard. Everyone moves at their own pace.

Can we try it without an account?

Yes. The playground on study.codecrafters.codes runs Python in your browser with no account. To keep progress, answer a few quick questions and sign in with Google.

Mentor classes

Are mentor classes required?

No. Self-paced learning is the core experience. Mentor classes are an optional weekly add-on for questions, project feedback, and a study plan.

How do mentor classes work?

One online meeting each week, 90–120 minutes, with a professional mentor. The first class starts on Monday, 9 November 2026. Between classes, mentor-plan learners can ask questions anytime in a dedicated support channel.

What happens in the free trial class?

The learner meets the mentor online and gets a feel for a weekly class. Parents can ask anything before choosing a plan. It’s free, with no obligation to subscribe.
